Ozone Free IAQ Solutions
IAQ has always been important. Now we can understand why…

HEPA, why stop there?

What is HEPA? And why do we offer better than HEPA options?

High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA), also known as high-efficiency particulate absorbing and high-efficiency particulate arrestance, is an efficiency standard of air filter. Filters meeting the HEPA standard must satisfy certain levels of efficiency. Common standards require that a HEPA air filter must remove—from the air that passes through— 99.97% (ASME, U.S. DOE) particles whose diameter is equal to 0.3 μm; with the filtration efficiency increasing for particle diameters both less than and greater than 0.3 μm.

ULPA is an acronym for “Ultra Low Particulate Air (filter)” An ULPA filter can remove from the air at least 99.999% of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria and any airborne particles with a minimum particle penetration size of 100 nanometres (0.1 µm). A ULPA filter can remove (to a large extent, not 100%) – oil smoke, tobacco smoke, rosin smoke, smog, insecticide dust.

It can also remove carbon black to some extent.

So as you know can understand ULPA is just simply more effective at removing the small stuff (you know the stuff that has health risks).
